Is The Black Community Being Sold?

I Since the dismantling of the City’s Housing department and the city’s financial housing and project manager has been in receivership, Kansas City’s entire downtown has been totally revitalized. A children’s water park has been built in the Northland and plans are underway to fund a light-rail system throughout the metropolitan area.
The City has lost millions of dollars in block grants and job training programs and a low income to moderate income family home has not been built in about three years.
City assets and those of HEDFC are being sold with no accountability to the community and although everyone involved contends that they want to return the assets to the City as soon as possible, a receivership can last an indefinite time. The black community of Kansas City can ill afford for HUD funding and City assets to be tied up for the next 15 years.
