FORMER SENATOR MARY GROVES BLAND

“To God Be The Glory For The Things He Has Done.”

Those were always the words spoken by former State Senator Mary Anita Groves Bland whenever she conclud- ed any public presentation or before she began speaking.

Those words will be always be remembered as Senator Bland is laid to rest on Satur- day, March 5 at Lincoln cem- etery.

Senator Bland died Friday, Feb. 19, after suffering several seizures related to her Alzheim- er’s disease in hospice care in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she was living with her daughter Arletha Bland Manlove and son-in-law, Jon Manlove.
