Jury Finds Five Defendants Guilty In Petro America Scam

Corey Montgomery knows that his mother’s soul is resting easy now that on Wednesday, May 15, a jury found five defendants guilty of scamming her out of about $10,000 of what was left from his father’s life insurance policy.
Isreal Owen Hawkins, 57, and Martin Roper, 47, both of Kansas City, Kas.; William Miller, 42, of Independence, Mo.; Johnny Heurung, 59, of Saint Paul, Minn.; and Teresa Brown, 55 of Bandera, Texas were found guilty of all 15 counts contained in a June 15, 2011 federal indictment. Sentencing will be at a later date.
